A hearing conducted by the respondent Insurance Commissioner under the provisions of section 1731 of the Insurance Code culminated in the revocation of petitioners licenses as an insurance agent and an interinsurance agent. Petitioner applied to the superior court for a writ of mandate to vacate the orders making such revocation. Exercising its independent judgment on a consideration of the proceedings before the commissioner (no additional evidence was offered) the trial court found that the commissioners decision is supported by the findings and the findings by the evidence. It also found that petitioner wilfully inserted false statements in his applications for the licenses. The court by order denied the petition. Petitioner appeals.
